Managing Power 3-9HibernationNOTE: When using Windows Vista, make sure that the hibernation feature is enabled inthe “When I press the power button,” “When I press the sleep button,” and “When Iclose the lid” of the Power Options System Settings Properties from theControl Panel Mobile PC. When using Windows XP, make sure that the hibernation feature is enabled in theHibernate tab of the Power Options Properties from the Control Panel.Hibernation is a very useful feature. People frequently open manyapplications when they use computers. It takes some time to get all theseapplications open and running, and normally they all have to be closedbefore the computer can be turned off. When you use the hibernation feature, you do not have to close theapplications. The computer stores the state of your computer to a file onthe hard disk and then shuts down. The next time you turn on yourcomputer, you return to exactly where you left off.
