3 HARDI® MUSTANG 3500 OPERATOR’S MANUAL1.0 INTRODUCTIONYour new HARDI® MUSTANG 3500 system is a high-performancecontroller, designed for superior control of agricultural productapplications while providing easy-to-use features to help you manageyour farming operation efficiently. From the large, easy-to-read displayand controls to the Utilities Software provided, the system is designedwith the operator in mind. The HARDI® MUSTANG 3500 system uses individually entered sectionwidths to determine which portion of the total liquid is being by-passedrather than sprayed from the boom section. For this reason, it isextremely important to adjust and verify the amount of liquid that isdiverted by the constant pressure distribution valve when a section is shutoff. The HARDI® MUSTANG 3500 has many built-in features, some of whichare described in the following paragraphs.THREE INDEPENDENT RATE SETTINGSThe system provides three application rate settings with clearly markedbuttons to choose the desired rate. The three rates can be set up in twoways: If the same nozzles are always used, three selectable rates can beset up for varying field conditions. If three different sets of quick-changenozzles are used, each of the three rates can be set up for a different setof nozzles. This will save time when changing nozzles, because theconsole will not need to be calibrated when nozzles are changed.AREA AND FLOW COUNTERSNine independent field area and flow counter pairs, plus total area andflow pair. You are in total control from your cab.ALARM WITH EASY SET UP AND CONTROLAn internal alarm is provided to alert the operator to error conditions. Thealarm is factory-set to turn on if the actual application rate is more than+/– 10% from the target rate, and can easily be turned to a lower volume,or turned off entirely, by simply using the toggle switch on the back of theconsole. The alarm can also be set to turn on if the tank level is below aset minimum.
