Attention: Before you change any switch settings or move any jumpers, turnoff the server; then, disconnect all power cords and external cables. See thesafety information that begins on page “Safety” on page vii. Do not changesettings or move jumpers on any system-board switch or jumper blocks that arenot shown in this document.The default for all of the switches on switch block (SW4) is Off.While the server is turned off, move switch 1 of the switch block (SW4) to the Onposition to enable the power-on password override. You can then start the Setuputility and reset the power-on password. You do not have to return the switch tothe previous position.The power-on password override switch does not affect the administratorpassword.Administrator password: If an administrator password is set, you must type theadministrator password for access to the full Setup utility menu. You can use anycombination of between six and 20 printable ASCII characters for the password.Attention: If you set an administrator password and then forget it, there is no wayto change, override, or remove it. You must replace the system board.Using the Boot Selection Menu programThe Boot Selection Menu is used to temporarily redefine the first startup devicewithout changing boot options or settings in the Setup utility.To use the Boot Selection Menu program, complete the following steps:1. Turn off the server.2. Restart the server.3. Press F12 (Select Boot Device). If a bootable USB mass storage device isinstalled, a submenu item (USB Key/Disk) is displayed.4. Use the Up Arrow and Down Arrow keys to select an item from the BootSelection Menu and press Enter.The next time the server starts, it returns to the startup sequence that is set in theSetup utility.Starting the backup server firmwareThe system board contains a backup copy area for the server firmware. This is asecondary copy of server firmware that you update only during the process ofupdating server firmware. If the primary copy of the server firmware becomesdamaged, use this backup copy.To force the server to start from the backup copy, turn off the server; then, place theUEFI boot recovery J29 jumper in the backup position (pins 2 and 3).Use the backup copy of the server firmware until the primary copy is restored. Afterthe primary copy is restored, turn off the server; then, move the UEFI boot recoveryJ29 jumper back to the primary position (pins 1 and 2).Using the ServerGuide Setup and Installation CDThe ServerGuide Setup and Installation CD contains a setup and installationprogram that is designed for your server.
