18 xSeries 380: User’s ReferenceUsing the BIOS Setup Utility programThis section provides the instructions needed to start the BIOS Setup Utility programand descriptions of the available menu choices.Starting the BIOS Setup Utility programTo start the BIOS Setup Utility program:1. Turn on the server.2. Press F2 to start the BIOS Setup Utility program.Note: If you have set both levels of passwords (user and supervisor), you musttype the supervisor password to access the full BIOS Setup menu.Follow the instructions that appear on the screen.Choices available from the BIOS Setup main menuFrom the BIOS Setup Utility Main menu, you can select settings that you want tochange.Note: The choices on some menus might differ slightly, depending on the BIOSversion in your server.The following table describes the choices available from the Main menu:Menu item Default value DescriptionBIOS Version [bios_version_number] The currently installedversion of BIOS. You cannotchange this value. It appearsfor informational purposesonly.Processor Type [Intel Itanium processor] The processor type. Youcannot change this value.
