Themachine must be properly grounded to helpprevent electrical shock and possible fatalinjury.In the event of a malfunction or breakdown,grounding provides a path of least resistance forelectric current to reduce the risk of electricshock. This tool is equipped with an electric cordhaving an equipment-grounding conductor and agrounding plug. The plug must be plugged into amatching outlet that is properly installed andgrounded in accordance with all local codes andordinances.Do not modify the plug provided. If it will not fitthe outlet, have the proper outlet installed by aqualified electrician.Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk ofelectric shock. The conductor, with insulationhaving an outer surface that is green with orwithout yellow stripes, is the equipment-grounding conductor. If repair or replacement ofthe electric cord or plug is necessary, do notconnect the equipment-grounding conductor to alive terminal.Check with a qualified electrician or servicepersonnel if the grounding instructions are notcompletely understood, or if in doubt as towhether the tool is properly grounded. Use onlythree wire extension cords that have three-pronggrounding plugs and three-pole receptacles thataccept the tool’s plug.
