2 Press the F key, then the 0/L.OUT key.A * indicator appears below the memory channelnumber on the display, indicating that channel will beskipped in the memory channel scan mode.3 Repeat steps 1 and 2 to lockout any other channelsyou may want to skip.4 To cancel the lockout, select the memory channelnumber. If it was locked out, it will have the *indicator on the display.Press the F key and then the 0/L.OUT key. The *will disappear.5 Band scan1 Adjust the SQL control to the threshold point.2 Press the Band key to select the desired ScanningBand.3 Press the VFO key to select the VFO mode.4 Press and hold the VFO key for longer than onesecond.Scanning begins toward the higher frequencies. TheMHz indicator (decimal) flashes when the transceiveris scanning.5 Scanning pauses on a station strong enough to openthe squelch and turn the BUSY indicator on. t6 Programmable Band ScanThis transceiver can select and scan a frequencyrange in a band.You can set separate limits for both VHF and UHF,limiting dual scan on both bands.Even if you sets the programmable band scan limits,the VFO tuning range is not limited unlike theprogrammable VFO function. (See page 15.)For example, you can program so that thetransceiver scans a range from 144.50 to 145.80 inthe VHF band.Use the following procedure to specify the desiredscan limit.1 Press the BAND key to select the desired Band.2 Select the desired upper scan limit.3 Press and hold the M key for longer than onesecond, then press the 5 key.4 Select the desired lower scan limit.26
