154 Keysight EXG and MXG X-Series Signal Generators User’s GuideBasic Digital Operation for N5172B/82B with Options 653/655/656/657Waveform Files (Segments and Sequences)Using Dual ARB SoftkeysDual ARB mode is used to control the playback sequence of waveform segments that have beenwritten into the ARB memory located on the internal baseband generator. These waveformsegments can be generated by the internal baseband generator using ARB Custom Modulationmode or downloaded through a remote interface into the ARB memory. The Dual ARB waveform player enables you to play, rename, delete, store, and load (external orinternal) waveform files in addition to building waveform sequences. The Dual ARB waveformplayer also provides markers (page 169), triggering (page 185), clipping (page 192), and scaling(page 201) capabilities.Figure 8-1 Dual ARB SoftkeysThe MXG/EXG’s ARB Waveform File Cache is limited (see the Data Sheet).Consequently, once the file cache limit has been reached, the waveformswitching speed is much slower for additional files loaded into thevolatile waveform memory (BBG).page 324page 192page 201page 192page 155If you set the Arb Sample Clock when the Dual ARBis off, the new setting is applied when the Dual ARBplayer is turned on; this setting survives toggling theDual ARB player off and on.page 63page 163page 185For details on each key, use key helpas described on page 56.Note: This is second oftwo Arb menus.page 158page 207page 201page 201page 210page 234These softkeys areonly available in theArb Setup menus.page 169Available onN5172B/82B vectormodels with Opt 2xx.page 246page 234
