The Layback dialog boxwill open shown in Figure 4-71.Navigation position information is obtained by the location of the GPS antenna.The parameters in the Layback dialog box are used to increase the accuracy of thetowfish and target positions that are calculated by SonarPro. These parametersbecome part of the sonar data record and are stored during data collection. Thelayback calculation is always active on the target and towfish positions. The moreaccurate the information entered here is, the more accurate the positioninginformation will be.4.19.1 Entering the Layback ParametersThe layback parameters are entered in the Layback dialog box as follows:Cable Out Source. Select the Manual option if you want to manually enterthe length of cable out; select the External option to obtain the length from awinch status input. If you select the Manual option, enter the length of cableout in the Cable Out scroll box in the units shown. This scroll box is availableonly if you selected this option.Display Units. Select the Meters option to enter and display the laybackparameters in meters; select the Feet option to enter and display the parametersin feet.Figure 4-71: The Layback Dialog Box
