C-18 APPENDIX C TPU Software Interface and ControlSeries 5000 Sonar System Operations and Maintenance Manual P/N 11210060, Rev. 13.0$MLd: Sets the uplink pre-emphasis amount where d = 0 – 7. Seethe ‘PREEMPHASIS’ description in the startup scriptabove for more information. This command can be used tofine tune the uplink for various cables. When theperformance is optimized then this value can beincorporated into the startup script to initialize the pre-emphasis on boot-up. Note: this command is only supportedon towfish equipped with a 14102066 Multiplexer board.$MGd: Sets the uplink gain where d = 0 – 4. See the ‘LBOGAIN’description in the startup script above for more information. This command can be used to fine tune the uplink forvarious cables. When the performance is optimized then thisvalue can be incorporated into the startup script to initializethe pre-emphasis on boot-up. Note: this command is onlysupported on towfish equipped with a 14102066Multiplexer board.$MSd: Sets the uplink source where d = 0 selects the normalcoaxial drive. Setting this to ‘1’ selects the laser as thesource and deactivates the metallic uplink. See the‘LASER’ description in the startup script above for moreinformation. Note: this command is only supported ontowfish equipped with a 14102066 Multiplexer board.C.6.2 5000 System Transmitter CommandsThe following commands are available to control the 5000 System Transmitter:$TWd: Sets the transmit waveform. This command should not beaccessed by the user as an incorrect setting can causeserious data quality degradation.$TRd: Selects the responder frequency page where d = 0 –Fhexadecimal. The default is ‘7’ which selects a frequency of27.5 kHz. Increasing or decreasing this value changes theresponder frequency by 500 Hz.$TDd: Sets the responder divisor to 2^d, where d = 0 – 15. A valueof 15 turns the responder off.$TAd: Turns the altimeter transmitter on or off. Setting d = 1 turnsaltimeter on, d = 0 turns the altimeter off.
