COAXIAL10 Digital Stereo Hookups• You cannot use a Mini-Disc orDigital Audio Tape deck to copy5.1 channel Dolby Digital sur-round sound Discs.• Discs recorded in Dolby Digitalshould show this on the Disc orcase. If the Disc is not recordedin 5.1 channel Dolby Digital sur-round sound, you will not hearmulti-channel sound even if youuse the Digital Stereo hookup.You can connect the TV/DVD to a Stereo thathas a Digital Coaxial In jack. Use this hookup ifyou want to hear the TV/DVD sound throughthe Stereo instead. Use these connections fora Dolby Digital-compatible Stereo or for aReceiver that has a Mini-Disc or Digital AudioTape deck.1 Connect the antenna/Cable TVsignal as usual. See page eight.2 Connect a digital audio coaxialcable (not supplied) to the orangeCOAXIAL Out jack on the rear ofthe TV/DVD.Connect the same cable to theStereo’s COAXIAL DIGITALAUDIO IN jack.3 If the Stereo is Dolby Digital-com-patible, set DOLBY DIGITAL toON. If the Stereo is not Dolby Digital-compatible or if you connected to aMini-Disc or Digital Audio Tape Deck,set DOLBY DIGITAL to OFF.See page 41.An incorrect setting causes noise distor-tion and damages speakers.To see if your Stereo has Dolby Digital,look for a Dolby Digital logo on yourStereo.
