• When you try to play a DVDwhose rating exceeds the level youset, an on-screen message will indi-cate the DVD cannot play.Remove the DVD, then setPARENTAL LEVEL to ALL . Reloadthe DVD and begin play. SomeDVDs may let you enter your four-digit password to begin play. Followthe on-screen messages asprompted.• You cannot use the default pass-word (4737) to play a DVD.Helpful HintsParental Levels 35Follow these steps to set the rating level for your DVDs.DVDs whose ratings exceed the level you set will not play.1 With the unit in DVD mode, press SETUPtwice while play is stopped.The QUICK SETUPscreen will appear.2 Press B to select CUSTOM at the top of themenu, then press ENTER.3 Press B to select (the lock) at the top of themenu, then press ENTER.4 Press the Number buttons to enter your four-digit password. Asterisks (*) will appear on thescreen instead of numbers to protect the identity ofthe password. See page 34.5 Press o to select PARENTAL LEVEL, thenpress ENTER.6 Press o or p to select a level, then pressENTER.The rating levels continue on two menu screens. Presso or p repeatedly to move to the next or previousscreen to find the rating level you want. After makingyour selection, the previous menu will appear.The levelyou selected will appear beside PARENTAL LEVEL.DVDs that have a higher or stricter rating will notplay.7 Press SETUP to remove the menu.
