Movement of themiter saw on the supporting surface while cutting mayresult in loss of control and serious personal injury.1. Fix the base to a level and stable surface, screw-ing with two bolts. Turn the adjusting bolt clockwise or counterclock-wise so that it comes into a contact with the floor sur-face to keep the tool stable.► Fig.5: 1. Adjusting boltInstalling the holders and holderassembliesNOTE: In some countries, the holders and holderassemblies may not be included in the tool packageas standard accessory.The holders and the holder assemblies support work-pieces horizontally.Tighten the fence shafts to the holder assemblies usingthe hex wrench.► Fig.6: 1. ScrewThen tighten the screws firmly to secure the holders andthe holder assemblies.FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTIONWARNING: Always be sure that the tool isswitched off and the battery cartridge is removedbefore adjusting or checking the functions on the tool.Failure to switch off and remove the battery cartridge mayresult in serious personal injury from accidental start-up.Installing or removing battery cartridgeCAUTION: Always switch off the tool beforeinstalling or removing of the battery cartridge.CAUTION: Hold the tool and the battery cartridgefirmly when installing or removing battery cartridge.Failure to hold the tool and the battery cartridge firmly maycause them to slip off your hands and result in damage tothe tool and battery cartridge and a personal injury.► Fig.8: 1. Battery cartridgeTo remove the battery cartridge, slide it from the toolwhile sliding the button on the front of the cartridge.To install the battery cartridge, align the tongue on thebattery cartridge with the groove in the housing and slipit into place. Insert it all the way until it locks in placewith a little click. If you can see the red indicator on theupper side of the button, it is not locked completely.CAUTION: Always install the battery cartridgefully until the red indicator cannot be seen. If not,it may accidentally fall out of the tool, causing injury toyou or someone around you.CAUTION: Do not install the battery cartridgeforcibly. If the cartridge does not slide in easily, it isnot being inserted correctly.NOTE: The tool does not work with only one battery cartridge.Tool / battery protection systemThe tool is equipped with a tool/battery protection sys-tem. This system automatically cuts off power to themotor to extend tool and battery life. The tool will auto-matically stop during operation if the tool or battery isplaced under one of the following conditions:Overload protectionWhen the tool is operated in a manner that causes it todraw an abnormally high current, the tool automaticallystops without any indication. In this situation, turn thetool off and stop the application that caused the tool tobecome overloaded. Then turn the tool on to restart.Overheat protectionOn BlinkingWhen the tool is overheated, the tool stops automati-cally, and the battery indicator blinks about 60 seconds.In this situation, let the tool cool down before turning thetool on again.
