Seepage 34 for correct scan types.• The video cable is not connected securely. • Connect the video cable into the jackssecurely.• The connected TV power is turned off. • Turn on the TV.No sound • The equipment connected with the audiocable is not set to receive DVD signaloutput.• Select the correct input mode of the audioreceiver so you can listen to the soundfrom the DVD player.• The audio cables are not connectedsecurely.• Connect the audio cable into the jackssecurely.• The power of the equipment connectedwith the audio cable is turned off.• Turn on the equipment connected with theaudio cable.• The Audio output settings are incorrect. • Select the digital and analog outputsettings depending on your hardwareconfiguration. See page 29 for setup.The playback picture is poor • The disc is dirty. • Clean the disc.The DVD player does not start playback • No disc is inserted. • Insert a disc (Check that the DVD or VCDindicator in the T585’s display is lit).• An unplayable disc is inserted. • Insert a playable disc (Check the disc type,colour system and Regional code).• The disc is placed upside down. • Place the disc with the playback sidedown.• The disc is not placed within the guide. • Place the disc on the disc tray correctlyinside the guide.• The disc is dirty. • Clean the disc.• A menu is on the TV screen. • Press the SETUP button to turn off themenu screen.The remote control does not workproperly• The remote control is not pointed at theremote sensor of the DVD player.• Point the remote control at the remotesensor of the DVD player.• The remote control is too far from theDVD player.• Operate the remote control within about23 ft (7 m).• There is an obstacle in the path of theremote control and the DVD player.• Remove the obstacle.• The batteries in the remote control areexhausted.• Replace the batteries with new ones.T585 Safety.qxd 3/23/2006 4:13 PM Page 34
