You useMAP to list SuperScript network printers connected to yournetwork. Then you select one to go to its NetworkAdministration page for network administration options.MAP Operating RequirementsTo use MAP, you must have the following installed onyour PC:• Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer• The Microsoft TCP/IP protocol stack, if printer is goingto support TCP/IP.For IPX Search Functions: The IPX protocol must beinstalled and enabled on your PC. Both Microsoft and theNetWare 32-bit stacks are supported.Installing MAPMAP is available on the SuperScript printer driver that camewith your printer. MAP must be installed from Windows 95/98, Windows NT 4.0, or Windows 2000. It cannot be installedfrom Windows 3.1x or the MS-DOS® command prompt.1. Insert the your SuperScript CD.2. Press the Windows Start button and select Run.At Run, type :\map\Setup.exeFor 4650 Series printers use this pathAt Run, type :\utilities\map\Setup.exeThen click OK. Follow the Install wizard prompts.3. Choose the Destination Directory to install the MAP andclick Next.4. When the Select Program Folder is displayed, type a newfolder name, or select one from the existing Folder listand click Next.5. When the “Setup is Complete” Information dialog box isdisplayed, click OK, then complete the installation.Running MAP and Selecting a PrinterIn Windows 95/98, Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 2000:1. Press the Start button.2. Select MAP from the program group you specifiedduring installation.3. When MAP starts, a list of all available units on thenetwork is displayed by unit IP address or serial number.The unit listing will be divided by TCP/IP units andIPX/SPX units. See the illustration below.note: If a unit is enabled for both IP and IPX, it willappear in both lists.4. Click on a unit under IPX/SPX in the list to display itsNetwork Administration page.5. Click on a unit under TCP/IP to display the printer’shome page.The Network Administration page options are explained inChapter 4.
