Anyadjustments made to the shutter must be done with door installed, including the burner and all media installedinto the appliance. It is important to operate the appliance and verify that the air shutter is opened to thecorrect amount to prevent either flame lifting or carbonizing and to optimize the appearance of the flame.To open or close the shutter, pull the rod away from the appliance or push the rod towards the appliancerespectively.Small adjustments on the shutter can have a drastic effect on the flame appearance; it is recommended toadjust the shutter in 1/8” increments.OPENCLOSERegardless of air shutter location closing the air shutter will cause a more yellow flame, but can lead tocarbonization. Opening the air shutter will cause a more blue flame, but can cause flame lifting from theburner ports. The flame may not appear yellow immediately, allow 15 to 30 minutes for the flame colour tobe established.• Air shutter adjustment must be done by a qualified installer! If this appearance is not desirable, the vent exit in theappliance must be restricted using a restrictor vent kit. Refer to the “replacements” section of the owner’smanual for the appropriate kit. This will reduce the velocity of the exhaust gases, slowing down the flame patternand creating a more traditional gentle flame appearance. Specific instructions are included with the kit.
