Before running TeemTalk, create a licence key file as describedafter the next section.Note: If you encounter any problems during the installationprocess, refer to the sections entitled Troubleshooting andTesting The Installation at the end of this chapter.Creating A Licence Key FileBefore running TeemTalk for the first time you must create a text file in which theTeemTalk licence key is placed.1. Create the licence directory /etc/lm with the following commandand then make it the current directory.mkdir /etc/lmcd/etc/lm2. Use a text editor to create the file teemx in which the 12 digitlicence key should be placed.A temporary licence key is supplied with TeemTalk which will enable the software tooperate normally until the date shown. If you have purchased the software youshould apply for a permanent licence key from your local reseller. To obtain this keyyou will need to supply the following information:- The serial number of the product (shown on the distributionmedia).- The internet address of the workstation or X terminal on whichTeemTalk is being displayed. (TeemTalk displays the required IPaddress as part of the Copyright message when it is started. Forexample: "...running on 'dopey' (128.127.126.2)...", where the IPaddress is 128.127.126.2. Note that TeemTalk will display thisinformation even without a licence file.)When you have the permanent licence key, this must replace the temporary licencekey in the licence key file.
