20-1TA6530 Emulation20TA6530 EmulationThis chapter describes the Tandem 6530 terminal emulation.IntroductionThe emulation of the Tandem 6530 terminal is entered by displaying the EmulationSettings dialog box from the Settings menu and setting the Alpha Emulation optionto TA6530. Click Ok to close the dialog box.You must use the inbuilt telnet facility provided by TeemTalk to make a connection toa remote host when using this mode. Refer to the Initiating A Telnet Session section inthe Getting Started chapter for details.The TA6530 emulation is configured via the TA6530 Settings dialog box which isdescribed in the Setup Menus chapter.Colour mapping of attributes (local and by host) and enhanced colour field supportfor Block mode are supported.The following sections describe the status line displayed at the bottom of thewindow, the three main operating modes (Conversational, Block and ANSI), and themapping of functions on various keyboard layouts.The Status LineThe last (25th) line in the window is used to display messages and status information.You can enable or disable display of a border which separates this line from the restof the lines above it by setting the Status Border option in the TA6530 Settingsdialog box accordingly.The status line is divided into two fields. The first and leftmost field is used to displaymessages of up to 64 characters in length.
