Token Security Authentication 8-3To perform security card authentication, each user must have asecurity authentication token card and a PIN. In addition, the user’sidentifying information must reside on the remote ACE servers forauthentication negotiation to properly take place.The Netopia Router supports the following user configurations forsecurity authentication:n Single user, calling a single destination (single session)n Single user, calling multiple destinations (two simultaneousand separate sessions)n Multiple users, calling a single destination (single session)n Multiple users, calling multiple destinations (two simultaneousand separate sessionsSecurity authentication componentsTo properly identify and authenticate an authorized user, thefollowing are required:n A secret personal identification number (PIN) for each user.n A security authentication token card.n A Security Access Control Module (ACM).Note: The Netopia Router currently only supports Ascend routersas ACMs.n An external Netopia Router calling into a designated server. Forexample, a telecommuter dialing into a remote site from aNetopia Router interested in accessing personal email or filesharing services.Note: The Netopia Router does not include a securityauthentication token card.
