Important securityinformationWhen you configure your WLAN home network, enable anencryption method on your access point device, then onthe other devices you intend to connect to your homenetwork. Refer to the documentation of the devices. Keepany passcodes secret and in a safe place separate from thedevices.You can view or change the settings of the WLAN internetaccess point in your device.If you use the ad hoc operating mode to create a homenetwork with a compatible device, enable one of theencryption methods in WLAN security mode when youconfigure the internet access point. This step reduces therisk of an unwanted party joining the ad hoc network.Your device notifies you if another device attempts toconnect to it and the home network. Do not acceptconnection requests from an unknown device.If you use WLAN in a network that does not haveencryption, turn off sharing your files with other devices,or do not share any private media files.Settings for home networkTo share media files saved in Photos with other UPnPcompatible and DLNA certified devices through a wirelessLAN (WLAN), you must create and configure your WLANhome internet access point, then configure the settings forhome network in the Home media application.The options related to home network are not available inapplications before the settings in the Home mediaapplication have been configured.Select Menu > Applications > Home media.When you access the Home media application for the firsttime, the setup wizard opens, helping you define thehome network settings for your device. To use the setupwizard later, select Options > Setup wizard, and followthe instructions.To connect a compatible PC to the home network, on thePC, you must install the related software. The software ison the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM supplied with your device, oryou can download it from the device support pages on theNokia website.Configure settingsTo configure the settings for home network, selectOptions > Settings and from the following:• Access point — To set the device to ask for the homeaccess point every time you connect to the homenetwork, select Always ask. To define a new accesspoint that is used automatically when you use thehome network, select Create new. If your homenetwork does not have WLAN security settingsactivated, a security warning is displayed. You cancontinue and activate WLAN security later; or canceldefining the access point and first activate WLANsecurity.• Phone's name — Enter a name for your device that isdisplayed to other compatible devices in the homenetwork.• Copy to — Select where to save copied media files.58 Connectivity
