Always secure thephone in its holder; do not place thephone on the passenger seat or where itcan break loose in a collision or suddenstop.Remember road safety always comesfirst!■ Operating environmentRemember to follow any specialregulations in force in any area andalways switch off your phone whenever itis forbidden to use it, or when it maycause interference or danger.Use the phone only in its normaloperating positions.Parts of the phone are magnetic. Metallicmaterials may be attracted to the phone,and persons with a hearing aid shouldnot hold the phone to the ear with thehearing aid. Always secure the phone inits holder, because metallic materialsmay be attracted by the earpiece. Do notplace credit cards or other magneticstorage media near the phone, becauseinformation stored on them may beerased.■ Electronic devicesMost modern electronic equipment isshielded from radio frequency (RF)signals. However, certain electronicequipment may not be shielded againstthe RF signals from your wireless phone.PacemakersPacemaker manufacturers recommendthat a minimum separation of 20 cm(6 inches) be maintained between ahandheld wireless phone and apacemaker to avoid potentialinterference with the pacemaker. Theserecommendations are consistent withthe independent research by andrecommendations of WirelessTechnology Research. Persons withpacemakers:• Should always keep the phone morethan 20 cm (6 inches) from theirpacemaker when the phone isswitched on.• Should not carry the phone in abreast pocket.• Should use the ear opposite thepacemaker to minimise the potentialfor interference.• If you have any reason to suspect thatinterference is taking place, switchoff your phone immediately.Hearing aidsSome digital wireless phones mayinterfere with some hearing aids. In theevent of such interference, you may wantto consult your service provider.
