Italso contains a listing of the factory default settings, sample log reports, listings of commands(by menu and alphabetical), HyperTerminal settings, and some common keyboard shortcuts.Establishing the Start Up ConfigurationThe CLI allows you to administer the AG 5500’s start-up configuration settings.The start up configuration must be established before connecting the AG 5500 to a customer’snetwork. The “start up” configuration settings include:z Assigning Login User Names and Passwords – You must assign a unique login username and password that enables you to administer and manage the AG 5500 securely.z Setting the SNMP Parameters (optional) – The SNMP (Simple Network ManagementProtocol) parameters must be established before you can use an SNMP client (forexample, HP OpenView) to manage and monitor the AG 5500 remotely.z Enabling the Logging Options (recommended) – Servers must be assigned and set upif you want to create system and AAA (billing) log files, and retrieve error messagesgenerated by the AG 5500.When establishing the start-up configuration for a new installation, you areconnected to the AG 5500 via a direct serial connection (you do not have remoteaccess capability because the AG 5500 is not yet configured or connected to anetwork). Once the installation is complete (see “Installation Workflow” onpage 31) and the system is successfully configured, you will have the additionaloptions of managing the AG 5500 remotely from the system’s Web ManagementInterface, an SNMP client manager of your choice, or a simple Telnet interface.User names and passwords are case-sensitive.
