15Installation and Reference for the BayStack 10 Power Supply UnitChapter 1IntroductionThis chapter provides an overview of components in the BayStack 10 PowerSupply Unit (PSU). The BayStack 10 PSU has powerful, modular redundantpower supply (RPS) and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) functionality in asingle chassis. It provides scalable power redundancy and protection tolow-wattage networking equipment. The RPS modules fit into the rear of theBayStack 10 PSU chassis. The UPS and its associated battery pack module fit intothe front of the chassis.You can provide DC power to up to four different devices, using the power supplymodules in the RPS section of the BayStack 10 PSU. If the utility power source isinterrupted, the UPS battery provides continuous AC power to those same fourdevices. You can purchase and install the RPS and/or UPS components of theBayStack 10 PSU, depending on the power requirements of your devices.Explanation of symbols on labelsFigure 1 shows all the symbols found on the BayStack 10 PSU and its componentparts, and the following list provides the explanation.
