To install the chassis on a flat surface:Optional rubber feet are provided. When installed properly, they prevent the unitfrom slipping.To install the optional rubber feet:1 Remove the paper backing from each rubber foot.2 Place one foot on each corner on the bottom of the unit.Installing the power supply modulesTo prevent damage during shipping, the power supply modules are not installedinto the BayStack 10 PSU. Install these modules before attempting to power onthe chassis and connected devices. You can install up to four modules into any ofthe four slots in the rear of the chassis (as described in “Power supply modules”on page 28). The following instructions apply to the installation of any powersupply module.Repeat the installation instructions as needed. The power supply modules arehot-swappable.Place the unit on a sturdy, level surface.Caution: For proper ventilation, be sure that the chassis has at least2 inches (5.1 cm) of space on each side. Restricted airflow causesoverheating of the internal components. Be sure to provide adequateventilation space on the sides of the chassis.Caution: If you are not installing a module in any of the slots, be sureto keep the metal cover plate in place over the slot.
