This key is active only when the telephone is in the local mode test.For the WLAN Handsets 2210/2211/2212, pressing the End key causes the phone to exit TestLocal Mode.If the phone does not have an Exit key, you must wait until the test times out For more informationabout Test Local Mode Timeout, see S1000 Main Office Settings panel on page 44.Features in local modeIn local mode, IP telephones at the SRG no longer have access to the full suite of main officeapplications. However, the SRG does provide a set of features that include connectivity with thelocal PSTN, access to Emergency Services, and the ability to call local extensions.The SRG also supports the following features in local mode:• Hold• Transfer (dedicated key on the 2002, 2004, and 2007 models)• Call Forward No Answer/Busy (if the feature has been enabled on the DN:Configuration > Telephony > Sets > All DNs)• Last Number Redial (dedicated key on the 2002/2004 models)• Inbox Key (on 2002/2004 models)The user experience in local mode can be enhanced if certain global feature settings arecoordinated with the main office so that the settings are the same at both the main office and theSRG. These feature settings are configured with the Feature Settings panel on the ElementManager interface (Configuration > Telephony > Global settings > Feature Settings). Featuresettings that can be coordinated with the main office are:• Background music (if it is provided for on-hold)• On-holdThis determines if a caller on hold hears tones, music, or nothing.• Receiver volumeSet to use the system volume, since IP users cannot use the feature code to set adefault telephone volume.• Delayed ring transferIf a transfer to an external number is not answered, you can indicate if the call will bedropped (Off) or transferred to the designated Prime telephone.Check the Transfer callback timeout. This setting defaults to After 4 rings. If youare using the Delayed ring transfer feature, turn Transfer callback timeout off ifyou want all unanswered transferred calls to ring at the Prime set (usually the systemattendant). If you want the transferred call to ring at the telephone from which it wastransferred first, set this field to a setting that is less than the setting for Delayed ringtransfer.
