B4400/4500/4550/4600 User’s Guide90Dispose of the old cartridge responsibly, inside the pack thatthe new one came in. Follow any regulations,recommendations, etc., which may be in force concerningwaste recycling.If you do spill any toner powder, lightly brush it off. If this isnot enough, use a cool, damp cloth to remove any residue. Donot use hot water, and never use solvents of any kind. Theywill make stains permanent.WARNING! If you inhale any toner or get it in your eyes, drinka little water or bathe your eyes liberally in cold water. Seekmedical attention immediately.Switch off the printer and allow the fuser to cool for about10 minutes before opening the top cover.1. Press the top cover release button and open the printer’stop cover fully.WARNING! If the printer has been powered on, the fuser maybe hot. This area is clearly labelled. Do not touch.2. Pull the colored lever on the right side of the tonercartridge towards the front of the printer to close thecartridge then remove the used toner cartridge.3. Follow the installation instructions on or inside the boxcontaining the new toner cartridge to install the newcartridge.4. Gently wipe the LED array surface with the LED lenscleaner that came with the new toner cartridge or softtissue.5. Close the top cover and press it down to latch it closed.When to replace the image drumB4400When the drum reaches 90% of its life, a CHANGE DRUMmessage is displayed in the printer Status Monitor.
