Maintenance menus4.3.2.9 Self-diagnostic function settingThe self-diagnostic function setting is used for enabling or disabling the error detection bysensors. The detection can be enabled or disabled temporarily for troubleshooting. Allowingfor setting engine operation options for which expert knowledge is required to be handled.This self-diagnostic should be used carefully. Be sure to restore the default settings of usedoptions of the self-diagnostic.1. Enter the self-diagnostic mode and, until the following message appears, pressthe MENU or MENU button.SENSOR SETTING2. Press the ENTER button. The following message appears. Press the MENU orMENU button until the option to set (refer to the table shown below) appears.TONER SENSORENABLE *3. The setting on the lower display can be selected by pressing the ENTER button.The MENU button displays the next setting and the MENU button displaysthe preceding setting.4. Hold down the ENTER button (for three seconds) with the desired setting on thedisplay. The setting is stored in the EEPROM. The state in step 2 is restored.5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 when necessary.6.
