OkiLAN 6200e Plus User’s GuideAdvanced Management Features 14over 150 configuration and status variables for the net-work protocols, printer ports, network interfaceprintersettings, and the overall Network Print Server status.Printer status traps such as on-line, off-line, detachedprinter and printer error are also provided. The setting of certain variables causes an immediatefirmware reset. These variables are listed in the pri-vate MIB under cmdReset.Note: If you attempt a reset while a job is printing, the job may not print successfully.Certain variables are critical, that is, they change afundamental operating parameter of the Network PrintServer. These variables are saved by the NetworkPrint Server but are not actually used until it is powercycled or is reset. When any one of these variables ischanged the variable genConfigDirty is automaticallyset to yes by the print server. This signifies a reset isrequired for all configuration changes to be madeactive. We recommend checking the genConfigDirtyvariable after using a MIB browser to make any config-uration changes to the Network Print Server. If gen-ConfigDirty is set to yes, then the cmdReset variableshould also be set to yes. This will cause the NetworkPrint Server to reset, make all configuration changesactive on the Network Print Server and set both thecmdReset and genConfigDirty variables to no. Thesecritical variables are listed in the private MIB undergenConfigDirty.TrapsTraps are unsolicited information from the SNMPagent. The Network Print Server uses a ColdStart trapto inform the manager it has been powered on or
