224ENHands-free recording/ Recording monitorThe recorder can be used as a hands-free recordingdevice. To set up the recorder for hands-freeoperation, connect the optional Olympus FootSwitch to the back of the docking station and placethe recorder in the docking station as shown in theillustration below.You can set the Hands-free function of the recorderto [Dictation] (default) of [ Transcription] by usingthe customize functions of the ODMS software(☞ P.44). Using the ODMS software you can alsochange the functions of the foot pedals.For more details, refer to the online help for ODMSsoftware (☞ P.47).It is possible to monitor your recording by listeningto it even while the recording is in progress.
