31Centering the Tread BeltTo improve belt life, the belt should be reasonably centered. Run the treadmill at 2.5 mph for 3 minutes to allow the belt to settle in place.If the belt is NOT reasonably centered (no closer than 1/8” to the left or right deck shroud) follow the steps listed below.WARNING: Never make adjustments while the belt is moving.TIP: Unnecessary adjustments can result in premature belt wear.CAUTION: Unplug your treadmill before attempting any cleaning or maintenance.Step One: (figure 6)Unplug the treadmill from the wall outletIf the belt is drifting to the left, using a 3/16” Hex wrench, turn the left-handadjustment bolt (1) a quarter turn clockwise and the right-hand adjustmentbolt (2) a quarter turn counter-clockwise.If the belt is drifting to the right, using a 3/16” Hex wrench, turn the right-handadjustment bolt (2) a quarter turn clockwise and the left-hand adjustmentbolt (1) a quarter turn counter-clockwise.Step Two:Plug the treadmill in to the outlet and run the treadmill at 2.5 mph for 3 minutesto allow the belt to settle in place.
