The screen displays alist of available configurations that are ready to be further defined; thelist varies depending on the kind of software you’ve added to yourhandheld.For example, a modem connection appears on the list. If you have thismodem, you only need to specify the phone setup (and networkconnection, if required) to complete the configuration.Note: You can purchase a PalmModem accessory for use with yourhandheld. See http://www.palm.com.You can also create custom configurations, which include thefollowing:PC via Cradle/Cable: A local HotSync connection:the direct connection between your handheld andyour desktop computer. Your handheld isconnected by its universal connector to thecradle/cable, and the cradle/cable is attached toa USB port of your desktop computer. (If you areusing the optional serial cradle/cable, it attachesto a serial (COM) port of your computer.)Modem via Cradle/Cable: A cable connectionbetween your handheld’s universal connectorand a modem for dialing in to a modem that ispart of your computer or laptop.PC via Infrared: A connection between the IR portof your handheld and the infrared device of yourcomputer or laptop.
