Page 180 Setting Preferences for Your HandheldAdding a DNS numberIf your ISP or dial-in server requires a DNS number and you did notenter that information in the Network Preferences screen, it willappear that you successfully logged into your network. When you tryto use an application or look up information, however, the connectionfails. If this occurs, try adding a DNS number. Ask your ISP or yourSystem Administrator for the correct Primary and Secondary DNS IPnumbers.Owner preferencesThe Owner Preferences screen enables you to record a name, companyname, phone number, or any other information that you want toassociate with your handheld.If you use the Security application to turn off and lock your handheldwith a password, information that you put in the Owner Preferencesdisplays the next time you turn on your handheld. See Chapter 1 formore information.To enter the Owner preferences:n Enter the text that you want to associate with your handheld in theOwner Preferences screen. If you enter more text than can fit onone screen, a scroll bar automatically appears on the right side ofthe screen.If you assign a password with the Security application, theinformation in the Owner Preferences screen cannot be changed. Inthis case, an Unlock button appears at the bottom of the screen.
