Theseparation between channels is good and provides a very realsurround effect.≥Linear PCM is an uncompressed digital audio signal. While a CD isrecorded in 44.1 kHz/16 bit, a DVD is recorded in 48 kHz/16 bit upto 96 kHz/24 bit. Therefore, the sound reproduced with thesesignals is potentially better than that found on CDs. This playerreproduces linear PCM in two channels.≥Bitstream is a compressed digital audio signal. This signal can bedecoded into different channels to produce, for instance, 5.1-channel surround sound.≥The digital audio output terminal (optical) converts electrical signalsinto optical signals and transfers them to an amplifier. These opticalsignals are immune to electrical interference, and they also haveminimal effect on other equipment.
