Multi-unit Operation562 Select Y, then press ,.3 Select “Registration”, then press, 2 times.4 Select a base unit number, then press,.L This number is used by the handsetas a reference only.5 Press and hold {x} on the base unit forabout 3 seconds, until the registrationtone sounds.L After pressing {x}, the rest of thisprocedure must be completed within 1minute.6 Wait until “Enter Base PIN” isdisplayed, then enter “0000” (defaultbase unit PIN), then press ,.L If you changed the PIN, enter it (page37).L When the handset has beenregistered successfully, w will stopflashing. If keytones are turned on(page 32), a confirmation tone will beheard.Selecting a base unitWhen “Auto” is selected, the handset willautomatically use any available base unit itis registered to. When a specific base unit isselected, the handset will make and receivecalls using that base unit only. If the handsetis out of range of that base unit, no calls canbe made.1 Press $ (middle soft key).2 Select Y, then press ,.3 Select “Select Base”, then press,.4 Select the desired base unit number, or“Auto”, then press ,.L The handset starts searching for thebase unit.Cancelling a handsetA maximum of 6 handsets can be registeredto a base unit. A handset can cancel its ownregistration (or the registration of anotherhandset) that is stored in the base unit. Thiswill allow the base unit to “forget” thehandset.1 Press $ (middle soft key).2 Select Z, then press ,.3 Enter “0000” (default base unit PIN).L If you changed the PIN, enter it (page37).4 Enter “335”.5 Select “Cancel Handset”, then press,.L The numbers of all handsetsregistered to the base unit aredisplayed.6 Select the handset(s) you want tocancel, by pressing the desired handsetnumber.L The selected handset number(s) willflash.L To cancel a selected handset number,press the number again.
