A sample consists of a sign bit, a three-bit segment specifying alogarithmic range, and a four-bit step offset into a range. All bits of the sample are invertedbefore transmission.Maintenance Console SoftwareThe Maintenance Console Software (MCS) runs on a conventional PC type computer underthe Windows 95 or Windows 98 or Windows NT operating system. The software providesa graphical user interface (GUI) for installing and maintaining the KX-TDA0480 and forconfiguring the KX-TDA0480 internal network features. MCS connection with the KX-TDA0480 is accomplished directly using an RS-232C cable or remotely over a LANconnection.Numbering planIn a communications network, a numbering plan allocates specific numeric codes toidentify each subscriber line, special lines, trunk lines, etc. Numbering plans can be dividedinto the numbering system and number assignments. The numbering system indicates thenumber of digits to be assigned and the basic scheme of number assignment.
