Troubleshooting58Answering SystemThe unit does not display thecaller’s name and/or phonenumber.• You need to subscribe to a Call Displayservice.• Other telephone equipment may beinterfering with your phone. Disconnect it andtry again.• Other electrical appliances connected to thesame outlet may be interfering with CallDisplay.• Telephone line noise may be affecting CallDisplay.• The caller requested not to send his/her CallDisplay information (p. 28).• If a Call Display box is connected betweenthe unit and the telephone wall jack,disconnect the Call Display box or plug theunit directly into the wall jack.The handset display exits theCaller List or phone book.• Do not pause for over 60 seconds whilesearching.You cannot page the handsetor base unit.• The handset is too far from the base unit.• The handset user is making an outside call,viewing the Caller List/phone book orlistening to messages. Wait until the IN USE/CHARGE indicator light goes out.• The handset or base unit is in use. Try againlater.You cannot have aconversation using theheadset.• Make sure the optional headset is connectedproperly (p. 55).• If “SP-phone” is displayed on the handset,press [ ] to switch to the headset.Problem Cause & RemedyThe Answering System is on,but incoming messages arenot recorded.• The recording time is set to “Greeting only”.Select “1 minute”, “2 minutes” or “3 minutes”(p. 21).• Memory is full.
