Answer by voice commandThis feature allows you to answer incomingcalls automatically with your voice. When yourvoice is detected, answered calls willautomatically be directed to the speakerphonemode. The default setting is “Off”.Important:R Before using this feature, we recommendthat you test it and adjust the voicecommand sensitivity as needed.R For best performance, answer the callwithin a range of 50 cm (20 inches) to 1 m(40 inches).R Once this feature is turned on, the TalkingCaller ID will be activated automatically. Toturn off the Talking Caller ID feature, seepage 38.R Ambient noise (dog barking, TV sound,etc.) may cause the unit to answer anincoming call.R When this feature is used, the unitdisconnects the call automatically after 3minutes. You may hear a warning tone andthe unit may prompt you to press * tocontinue talking 1 minute beforedisconnecting.R Once you press any key operations duringa call, the call is continued.Note:R When a call is manually answered using aunit, voice detection will end, and theanswer by voice command feature stopsoperating.R This feature is not available while babymonitor is set to “On” (page 41).R The speaker of the handset responds evenif the headphones are connected.Turning answer by voice commandon/off1 Press and hold * for about 2 seconds.2 MbN: Select the desired setting. aMSAVENR If you selected “Off”, go to step 4 toexit.3 MYESN a The unit will display andannounce the voice command guidance.R We recommend answering calls asdemonstrated.R There must be a 1 second pausebetween the two phrases.4 To stop: Press MSTOPN.To playback: Press MYESN.To exit: Press MOFFN.Note:R If you wish to turn on answer by voicecommand feature, select “Tone 1” to“Tone 5” as your ringer tone (page 38).If another ringer tone is selected, the unitwill automatically use “Tone 1” as thedefault ringer tone.Answer by voice command sensitivityYou can adjust the sensitivity of the answer byvoice command.
