Using the MCALL BLOCKNbuttonYou can press the MCALL BLOCKN button inthe following situations to disconnect thecurrent call and add a phone number to thecall block list:– when an incoming call is being received– when an incoming call is being recorded bythe answering system– when talking on an outside callOnce a phone number has been added to thecall block list, the unit will block calls from thatphone number in the future.Handset / Base unit1 Press MCALL BLOCKN under thesituations shown above.2 Confirm the call block number and pressMYESN.R The call block number is stored in thecall block list, “Caller blocked” isdisplayed, and then the call isdisconnected.Note:R If the call has no phone number, the call isblocked but it is not stored in the call blocklist.R The call block feature is not available forintercom calls or calls received by callwaiting.R Blocked calls are logged in the caller list.Storing unwanted callersThe unit can block calls by storing the desireditems in the call block list beforehand (CallerID subscribers only).– “Block a single number”*1/“Blocka single #”*2: The unit blocks calls fromspecific phone numbers stored in the callblock list.– “Block range of numbers”*1/“Blockrange of #”*2: The unit blocks calls thatbegin with a number stored in the call blocklist, such as a toll-free phone number prefixor certain area codes.– “Block unknown CID”*1/“Blockunknown”*2: The unit blocks calls thathave no phone number.*1 Handset*2 Base unitSingle phone numbers and ranges of numberscan be stored in the call block list up to 250items in total.Blocking unwanted callers:When a call is received, the unit rings briefly*1while caller information is being received.If the caller’s phone number matches an entryin the call block list, the unit emits no sound tothe caller, and disconnects the call.*1 If you do not want this one ring to sound,select “No” in “Setting not to ring once forblocked call” (page 22).Storing a single phone numberImportant:R We recommend storing 10 digits (includingthe area code).
