Once the message iscleared, this branch no longer appears.Local/Remote Menu SubbranchesThe Local branch menu has five subbranches; theRemote branch menu has four:• The Status (Stat) branch provides reports on thehealth and status of the DSU and DBM, the DTEinterface, the identity of the DSU and DBM, thestatus of the connected DTE’s EIA-232 and V.35interfaces, and if there is a dialed connection, thequality of the dial network circuit. If a TDM/Flex isinstalled, its status is integrated into the DSU’sstatus.• The Backup (Bckup) branch controls the operationof the dial backup feature. This branch is availableif a DBM or an external dial backup unit (DBU) isinstalled. Only available from the Local branch.• The Test branch provides extensive testingcapabilities for the DSU; the DDS circuit; theDBM, if installed; and the backup circuit, if there isa backup call established. If a TDM/Flex isinstalled, testing is available on a per port basis.NOTEIf the Test branch does notappear, the DSU is in Displaymode (values can be read, butnot changed).Only authorized persons canchange configuration optionvalues for the DSU. Contact yourSystem Administrator for furtherinformation.• The Configuration (Confg) branch provides theability to customize DSU software configurationoptions, to enter and change telephone numbers (ifa DBM is installed), to change the DSU networkaddress, and to specify the menu mode fordisplaying configuration options of the unit.• The Control (Ctrl) branch provides the ability todisplay and change external leads and enable ordisable the DSU or a DBM or TDM/Flex, wheninstalled. When a TDM/Flex is installed, the circuitdesignation status indicators (TXD, RXD, etc.)reflect the status of a selected port.Each selection leads to a functional subbranch of themenu.Only three menu selections appear at a time, one overeach function (F1, F2, F3) key. Press the andkeys to scroll backward or forward through menuselections.• Press the key to go to the previousscreen/menu display.• Press the key to return to the starting point –the top-level menu.Refer to Chapters 4 and 5 for additional DCP operationinformation.
