When connected tothe NMS, the DSU can be controlled and configured fromthe NMS rather than from the DCP alone. Procedure1. Plug the 4-pin modular plug of the 3600 HubbingDevice (Figure 2-3) into the DSU jack labeledCC/DC.2. Plug one end of an M6BJ cable into the hubbingdevice jack labeled CC IN/DC OUT.3. Plug the other end of the 8-pin M6BJ cable intothe 8-pin end of the 873A adapter.4. Plug either end of the dial (analog) interface cableinto the DSU jack labeled BACKUP.• Permissive service – telephone cord with 6-pinmodular RJ11C plug• Programmable service – telephone cord with8-pin RJ45S plug2. Plug the other end of the cable into the modularjack provided by the telephone company, USOCRJ11C (permissive) or USOC RJ45S(programmable).3.
