If you previously installed a Storage Networkinglicense, you can use this feature once you upgrade library firmware tothe appropriate version. Verify firmware version requirements in theScalar i6000 Release Notes.Data Path Failover provides an alternate data path when a preferreddata path fails. The Data Path Failover functionality is provided as partof the Storage Networking license and applies to HP LTO-5 and LTO-6Fibre Channel tape drives only. The HP LTO-5 and LTO-6 Fibre Channel tape drives have two FibreChannel ports. If you enable Data Path Failover on the tape drive, oneport is used as the “active port” for data transmission, and the otherport stands by for use if the active port fails. If the tape drive loses itsFibre Channel link with the active port, it will automatically “fail over”and use the standby port to continue drive operations.Port 1 – defaultdata pathPort 2 – default failover portPort 1 status LED Port 2 status LED
