3 Card Punch Simultaneous (CPS)General DescriptionThis instruction enables the Model 336 Card Punch to punch 80-column cards from information contained inthe HSM, using the Simultaneous Mode.FormatOperation — 3N — Determines the rate at which cards are to be punched, or is used in card cycle ending routine.N Purpose1 Demand card punching, or to terminate continuous card punching2 Used in continuous card punching ending routine4 Continuous card punchingA Address — HSM address of first character to be punched.B Address — Must be zeros (0000).Direction of Operation Standard LocationLeft to right. 0202 - 0205Outline of OperationA start signal is sent to the Card Punch. Initially and thereafter, as the need arises, this instruction automaticallydirects the Card Punch to place one or more cards in the punch station and operates on successive characters in thefollowing cycle.The Card Punch punches all the information from the HSM location addressed by the S Register through thenext 79 HSM locations. 80 characters are punched in each card. After the card is punched, it is immediately read toverify punching accuracy and placed in the output stacker.Final Register Contents(S)t = (A), +80(T)f = (B),TimingCards are punched at a rate of up to 200 cards per minute.VIII-18 |
