6Setup and ConnectionsAdvanced ConnectionsAdvanced connections give you better sound and video by separatingthe audio and video signals and enable you to connect multiplecomponents. This section describes the types of inputs available on the back of yourTV and suggests ways you can use them for optimum performance.Back of the TVThe diagram below describes each of the back panel jacks. Whenconnecting A/V cables, be sure to connect corresponding OUTPUTS andINPUTS (Video to Video, Right Audio to Right Audio, etc.).Once you have made your connectionsyou will want to program the TV to tuneto the correct Video INPUT channel inorder to see and hear audio and videofrom the component. You will programthis later in the Interactive Setup.Input 1Connect any of the following components:• VCR • Internet Access Device• Laserdisc Player • DVD Player• Satellite ReceiverTo view the component connected to Input 1:Use the WHO•INPUT button on the remote.R L G-LINKPR PB YS-VideoThis optionalconnection can beused for bettervideo qualitypicture.Audio OutputsConnect to an audio receiveror amplifier for variablecontrolled or fixed levelstereo output.Cable/AntennaTakes the signal input from a cable, cable box, or an off-air antenna. Canalso be used for basic componentconnections.Input 2 (VIDEO or Y PB P R)Connect any of the following components to INPUT 2:• VCR • Internet Access Device• Laserdisc Player • DVD Player• Satellite ReceiverThe Y, P B, P R jacks are used in place of the VIDEO jack to connectan optional component video source, such as a DVD player. Unlikea single video input, the Y, PB , PR jacks maintain the video signal asthree separate signals through these three jacks. To ensuremaximum picture quality, use three video-grade cables for theY, P B, and P R connections. To View the component connected to Input 2:Use the WHO•INPUT button on the remote.G-LINKConnect the G-LINKcable for one-buttonrecording andchannel tuning fromthe Guide.
