SmartMacros SMSmartMacros allow you to program your RCU1010RF remote to perform a series of sequential commands withone keypress. For example, you can program a SmartMacro to turn on your TV, tune it to a specific channel,turn on your VCR, and record. A total of 20 Learned commands can be programmed under each of the nineavailable LCD Macro keys. If you program all 20 keys into a SmartMacro, the Macro is automatically stored afterthe twentieth Learned command is completed. The sequence of commands you want a SmartMacro to executemust be programmed in correct sequential order. Any sequence of commands that you regularly perform can beprogrammed as a SmartMacro and reduced to a single keypress.Program a SmartMacroTo program a SmartMacro, follow these steps:1. Gather all your original remotes that contain functionsyou would like to add to a SmartMacro.2. Place the first original remote in the Learning position.(See section on Learning.) The remotes should be positioned2-3 inches apart.3. If the original remote is a universal remote, you must pressthe component key on that remote to select the desiredmode before proceeding with programming a SmartMacro.For example, pressing the VCR key on your originaluniversal remote will allow your RCU1010RF to program aSmartMacro using that component mode. If the originalremote is a dedicated remote, e.g., a DVD remote only, thisstep is not needed.4. Press and hold the SETUP key until the touchscreen showsthe Code Setup Mode? Screen. Release the SETUP key.5. Press and release the LCD MACRO Key. The SetSmartMacro? Screen is displayed.6. Press and release the LCD OK key.7. The touchscreen displays the SmartMacro Key? Screen.Press and release the digit key under which you want toprogram the SmartMacro (from 1-9).8. The touchscreen displays the S-MacroX Learn? Screen.Press and release the LCD LEARN key.9. The S-Macro X Learning Screen appears on the touchscreen.Press and hold the key on the original remote until the LEDindicator light on the RCU1010RF blinks once.Note: If no Learned command is detected, the RCU1010RFwill timeout after 30 seconds.10.Release the original remote key.11.Program additional commands in the order you want themto be stored in the SmartMacro. To add commands to theSmartMacro, repeat steps 8-10 above, using original remotesto program. Remember, each time you program a SmartMacro from a different component, you must put youroriginal universal remote in that component mode. If theoriginal remote is a dedicated remote, e.g., a DVD remoteonly, this step is not needed.12.When finished, press and release the LCD OK Key. You canprogram up to 20 learned commands under oneSmartMacro.13.Once you are finished programming the Macro, pressand release the LCD OK key to confirm and save. Thetouchscreen returns to the Set SmartMacro? Screen.14.The SmartMacro programming is complete.
