8The hotplate burnersYou should read ‘hotplate burners’ in the ‘2Minute Tour’ before all the followinginformationIf a burner flame goes out, turn the control knoboff and leave it for one minute before relighting it.You can remove the burner parts forcleaning, see page 14.You should wipe the enamel top surface of thecooker around the hotplate burners as soon aspossible after spills occur. Try to wipe them offwhile the enamel is still warm.Avoid using unstable and misshapen pans thatmay tilt easily and pans with a very small basediameter e.g. milk pans, single egg poachers.The minimum pan diameter recommended is120mm (about 4 3/4 "). Smaller pans will beunstable.Pans and kettles with down turned base rimsshould not be used.The griddleYou should read ‘griddle’ in the 2 Minute Tourbefore all the following informationUse the following heat settings as a guide forgriddle cooking.High/medium:Drop scones, Bacon, Chops, Steak, Burgers.Medium/low:Potato cakes, Eggs, Fish cakes.Experience will soon familiarise you with thecorrect setting to use for cooking.After cooking allow the griddle to cool beforecleaning.Don’t put it on the Wok burner - it is not designedto fit the Wok burner pan support.The WarmerThe Warmer can be used for keeping food warmwhile the final touches are put to a meal. Forbest results preheat a covered serving dish for10 minutes on the Warmer before adding thefood.Turn the control knob clockwise to the 'On'position. The 'HOT' indication light glows on theWarmer.CAUTION:- If a crack in the Warmer surfacebecomes visible, due to accidental damage etc.,isolate the appliance from the electricity supplyimmediately by turning it off at the wall andarrange for its repair.DO NOT RECONNECT THE COOKER TO THEELECTRICITY SUPPLY UNTIL AFTER REPAIR!The grillYou should read ‘grill’ in the 2 Minute Tour’before all the following informationNever close the grill door while the grill ison.Don’t leave the grill on for more than a fewmoments, without the grill pan underneath it.For best results, especially on toast, preheat thegrill with the grill pan in the cooking position fortwo minutes before use.The grill trivet can be removed and thefood placed on it while you are waitingfor the grill to preheat.The grill pan grid can be turned over to give twogrilling positions.You can brown the top of dishes cooked in theoven, under the grill. Remove the grill trivet andplace the dish onto the base of the grill pan.Slide the grill pan along the floor of the grillcavity.
