66Making a Call Using Speed DialSpeed dial numbers allow you to call contacts by simplydialing a 1-, 2-, or 3- digit number. For details on how toassign speed dial numbers to contacts, see “AssigningSpeed Dials” on page 61.To make a call using Speed Dial:1. Touch Phone.2. Touch Keypad, if necessary.3. From the onscreen keypad, touch and hold the speeddial number.If the speed dial number is more than 1 digit long,enter the digits and hold the last digit until the contactis dialed. For example, to dial speed dial number 12,touch 1, then touch and hold 2.Making a Call from the Address BookYou can store phone numbers that you use regularly on theSIM card or in the device’s memory. These entries arecollectively called the Address Book.For further details about the Address Book feature, see“Finding an Address Book Entry” on page 53.Answering a CallYou can answer incoming calls when the device is locked orunlocked. When you receive a call, an incoming call screendisplays. The caller’s phone number or name is displayed, ifstored in the Address Book.To answer the call: Touch and drag in any direction.To reject the call and send it to your voicemail: Touch and drag in any direction.To reject the call with a message: Touch and drag the Reject call with message tab upward.• Touch a predefined text message to send to the caller.– or –• Touch Create new message to compose a new message.To end the call: Touch End call.Note: You can answer a call while using the Address Book orother functions.
