70Options During a CallYour phone provides a number of control functions that youcan use during a call.Adjusting the Call VolumeDuring a call, to adjust the volume, use the Volume keys onthe left side of the phone. Press the Up volume key to increase the volume leveland press the Down volume key to decrease thevolume level.From a Home screen, you can also adjust the ringer volumeusing these same keys.In-Call OptionsDuring an active call there are several functions available bytouching a corresponding onscreen button.• Add call: Displays the dialer so you can call another person.• Keypad: Displays the onscreen keypad, where you canenter a number using DTMF (Dual Tone Multi-Frequency).• End call: Terminates the call.• Speaker: Routes the device’s audio through either the speaker orthrough the earpiece.– Touch Speaker to route the audio through the speaker. (Youcan adjust the speaker volume using the volume keys.) A greenline appears under the Speaker button.– Touch Speaker again to use the device’s earpiece (see “Usingthe Speakerphone During an Active Call” on page 74). Thegreen line disappears when Speaker is not activated.• Mute/Unmute: Turns the onboard microphone either on or off.– Touch Mute during a call to mute the microphone. A green lineappears under the Mute button.– Touch Mute again to unmute the microphone. The green linedisappears when Mute is not activated.
