136Section 11: Warranty InformationStandard Limited WarrantyWhat is covered and for how long?SAMSUNG TELECOMMUNICATIONS AMERICA,LLC (“SAMSUNG”) warrants that SAMSUNG’shandsets and accessories (“Products”) are freefrom defects in material and workmanship undernormal use and service for the periodcommencing upon the date of purchase by thefirst consumer purchaser and continuing for thefollowing specified period of time after that date:What is not covered?This Limited Warranty is conditioned upon properuse of the Product.This Limited Warranty does not cover: (a) defectsor damage resulting from accident, misuse,abnormal use, abnormal conditions, improperstorage, exposure to liquid, moisture, dampness,sand or dirt, neglect, or unusual physical,electrical or electromechanical stress;(b) scratches, dents and cosmetic damage,unless caused by SAMSUNG; (c) defects ordamage resulting from excessive force or use ofa metallic object when pressing on a touchscreen; (d) equipment that has the serial numberor the enhancement data code removed,defaced, damaged, altered or made illegible;(e) ordinary wear and tear; (f) defects or damageresulting from the use of Product in conjunctionor connection with accessories, products, orancillary/peripheral equipment not furnished orapproved by SAMSUNG; (g) defects or damageresulting from improper testing, operation,maintenance, installation, service, or adjustmentnot furnished or approved by SAMSUNG;(h) defects or damage resulting from externalcauses such as collision with an object, fire,flooding, dirt, windstorm, lightning, earthquake,exposure to weather conditions, theft, blownfuse, or improper use of any electrical source;(i) defects or damage resulting from cellularsignal reception or transmission, or viruses orother software problems introduced into theProduct; or (j) Product used or purchased outsidethe United States. This Limited Warranty coversbatteries only if battery capacity falls below 80%of rated capacity or the battery leaks, and thisLimited Warranty does not cover any battery if(i) the battery has been charged by a batterycharger not specified or approved by SAMSUNGfor charging the battery; (ii) any of the seals onPhone 1 YearBatteries 1 YearCase/Pouch/Holster 90 DaysOther Phone Accessories 1 Year
