5.3FAX5Adjusting Document SettingsWhen setting typical text based documents, the defaultdocument settings produce good results.However, if you send documents that are of poor quality, orcontain photographs, you can adjust the following features toensure a higher quality.ResolutionResolution is a measure of the fineness of clarity of aprintout. Low resolution may cause text and graphics to havea jagged appearance, while higher resolutions providesmoother curves and lines, crisp text and graphics, and abetter match to traditional typeface designs.Press Resolution on the front panel to increase resolution.By pressing Resolution repeatedly or using the Scrollbuttons ( or ), you can choose between STANDARD,FINE, and SUPERFINE. Press Enter to save the selection.The document types recommended for quality settings aredescribed below.• Standard works well for normal handwritten typed, orprinted documents.• Fine is good for documents containing a lot of detail.• Superfine works well for documents containing extremelyfine detail. Superfine works only if the receiving machinealso has the SUPERFINE feature.NOTES :• Superfine resolution is not available to store the document.Superfine documents will be stored to memory with Finemode for the advanced faxing like delayed transmission. Andfor a normal fax, the pages will be sent one by one as soon asthey are scanned, even though Send From Memory is set toON.• If the product is set to Superfine resolution and the receivingfax machine does not support Superfine resolution, yourproduct will transmit using the highest resolution modesupported by the remote fax machine.
