5.4 FAXContrastContrast is the difference in brightness between the lightestand darkest parts of a printed document. You can adjust thecontrast your product will use to send faxes. Adjust accordingto how light or dark your document is.Press Contrast on the front panel to compensate for thebrightness or darkness of your faxed document. By pressingContrast repeatedly or using the Scroll buttons ( or )after loading a document, you can choose between LIGHTEN,PHOTO, DARKEN, or NORMAL. Press Enter to save theselection.• Lighten works well with dark print.• Photo is used when faxing photographs or otherdocuments containing shades of grey.NOTE: The Photo setting is only enabled when sending a blackand white fax. If you select the Photo setting and try to faxdocuments with colour images, the contrast will be set to‘NORMAL’ automatically.• Darken works well with light print or faint pencil markings.The light image and text on the original document will bedarker on the printed page.• Normal works well with standard typed or printeddocuments.
