65Options During a Call64Options During a CallMuting or Sending Key TonesThese options allow you to turn the key tones offor on. If the Mute Keys option is selected, yourphone does not transmit the DTMF (Dual ToneMulti-Frequency) tones of the keys, which allowsyou to press keys without entering a dialling.Note: To communicate with answering machines orcomputerised telephone systems, the SendKeys option must be selected.Sending a Sequence of DTMF TonesYou can send the DTMF tones after entering theentire numbers you need to send.This option is helpful for entering a password oran account number when you call an automatedsystem, like a banking service.To send the DTMF tones:1. When you are connected to the teleservicesystem, press the Options soft key.2. Press the Down key to highlight the SendDTMF option.3. Press the OK soft key.4. Enter the number you want to send and pressthe OK soft key.The tones are sent.Switching the Microphone Off(Mute)You can temporarily switch your phone’smicrophone off so that the other person on thephone cannot hear you.Example: You wish to say something to anotherperson in the room but do not wantthe other person on the phone to hearyou.To switch the microphone off temporarily:1. Press the Options soft key.2. If necessary, press the Down key to highlightthe Mute option.3. Press the OK soft key.The other person can no longer hear you.To switch the microphone back on:1. Press the Options soft key.2. If necessary, press the Down key to highlightthe Unmute option.3. Press the OK soft key.The other person can hear you again.
